Acer Iconia One 7 B1-730 Tablet in black

I've got another review for you! Been with us for a year now but had no time to do the review :( It has been tested already and luckily had been used for countless times...

My husband and I bought this Acer Iconia One 7 B1-730 Tablet for our son, Jamir. We use this gadget in teaching him nursery rhymes, we also downloaded educational games and videos for toddlers so he will be prepared for schooling. So far, this gadget has been a great help to him :) He can now sing the Alphabet song, count numbers from 1-20 and memorizes his body parts, basic colors, shapes and fruits and nursery rhymes with the likes of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Five Little Ducks, Three Little Kittens, Five Little Ducks, Finger Family (his favorite) and a lot more...

Acer Iconia One 7 B1-730 Tablet in black at P3,749.00 comes in a 7-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels. Is powered by 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor and comes with 1GB of RAM. The tablet packs 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. Has a 5-megapixel primary camera for selfies and videos. Run by an Android 4.4 KitKat OS and powered by a 3700mAh non removable battery. It measures 119.00 x 198.00 x 10.16 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 320 grams. 

 

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. Sensors on the tablet include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer.

 

Its case is constructed of polycarbonate and comes in one of four colors. Besides the red color sported by our test device, the tablet is also available in blue, white or black. The backside is slightly ribbed, which helps the device feel secure in your hands.

Accessories includes a quick-start guide, a modular power supply and a USB cable. 

 

Warranty: Acer offers a 12-month warranty.

What I like about Acer Iconia One 7 B1-730 Tablet:

- the 7 inch display is just perfect

- Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity performance is good 

- the tablet's graphics capabilities are acceptable 

- WLAN module does its job reliably and well

- 8 GB internal storage is sufficient for our use

- expandable storage space up to 32gb microSD card

- the stereo speakers generate an acceptable sound

- I like the non-slip case, really convenient for my son's use

- battery can survive my son's 1-3 hrs usage {viewing videos, listening to music and games}

- with USB OTG capability

- affordable price of P3,749.00

- locally available (bought ours at Lazada)

 

What I don't like about Acer Iconia One 7 B1-730 Tablet:

- the camera is worthless, very poor quality images 

- battery can't survive for the whole day

- no 3G application

- downloaded applications/games from internal storage can't be moved to SD card :(

- modular power supply malfunctioned and became useless after 8 months of use 

 

Will I repurchase?

Yes, for son's use only but for my personal use... I will choose a better one like Samsung Galaxy Tabs or an Apple Ipad :)

I hope my review did help in any way for those moms who wanted to buy their children a tab that is within the budget yet usable...
